Statement of Faith

The statement of faith of the Holy Word Christian Church.

  1. GKKK confesses that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the only word inspired by God, written without error in its original manuscripts by those whom God chose, governed and led by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme authority for the faith and life of believers.

  2. GKKK confesses that God is one and eternal, revealing Himself in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer of the universe according to His sovereign and free will.

  3. GKKK confesses that humankind, male and female, was created by God in His image. In Adam, every person has fallen into sin and stands under God's judgement, and no one can obtain salvation through their own effort or goodness. Humankind can be saved only by the grace of God in Jesus Christ, received through faith.

  4. GKKK confesses that Jesus Christ is true God and true Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived without sin, was crucified, died, and rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and will come again a second time. He is the one and only Redeemer and Saviour of all humankind.

  5. GKKK confesses that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune God. He works in regeneration, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ. He indwells, sanctifies, empowers, and gives gifts to every believer according to His will, for witness and service to the Lord.

  6. GKKK confesses that the church is the Body of Christ, made up of believers who have been born again by the Holy Spirit, with Christ as the Head of the church. The church is called to proclaim the gospel to all nations and to nurture and mature the faith of believers through worship, fellowship, witness, service, and teaching.

  7. GKKK confesses that Jesus Christ will come again in glory. He will raise the dead and judge the living and the dead. Everyone who believes in Christ will receive eternal life, and those who do not believe in Christ will receive eternal punishment.
